Gamers slamming the Xbox Series S are clueless. I know SO many people who would have NEVER started playing more serious games if it wasn’t for the S, my wife being one of them. Perfect Diablo 4 machine. Absolutely love those things and if you can’t work with that amount of RAM…no comment š®

Behemoth - And the Forests Dream Eternally
I got back into record collecting recently, so expect more of these!
Early Behemoth kicks ass, especially And the Forests Dream Eternally. Released before the band changed their formula to lean more towards death metal, this release is dripping with black metal cliches: rough production and sound quality, furious blast beats and tremolo picked riffs, and shrieking vocal delivery thatās more reminiscent of early Marduk than it is of Deicide.
Iām a sucker for all of these qualities, so I love this EP. For me, atmosphere is everything for second wave black metal, and right down to the album art, it's present here.

Halo Cookbook: Patty Melts
Yes, I bought the Halo cookbook, and yes, I made things from it.
I figured I would post the outcomes here because...why not?
I like cooking, but I wouldnāt ever brag about my kitchen skills, so this is more for other fans who are curious about this weird Halo item.
Everything in the cookbook is written āin universeā, and itās actually kind of cool. I was expecting shoehorned āone time Master Chief thought about burgersā, but the connections to the universe and lore are pretty well thought out.
Iām making random recipes from the different sections of the book. This one in particular is from the World Cuisine section.
The patty melt recipe consists of ground turkey, provolone, and suateed onions. Itās wasnāt bad, but Iām not a huge fan of turkey. Iām trying all of these recipes how they are presented to expand my culinary horizons, but I like what I like, and turkey aināt it.
Wednesday 13 - Tally Ho Theater, Leesburg, VA - November 26th, 2023
Ventured out of my cave the other night to see Wednesday 13 play a Murderdolls set! I had to go, seeing as Murderdolls first album is the first CD I ever bought with my own money, specifically getting a ride to a Circuit City so I could pick it up and actually see the artwork and lyrics inside.
Took some quick shots and videos to test out the camera on the iPhone 15 Pro. Good stuff!
Moved Deprecated Gaming to a VPS
I have another website, deprecated.games that's meant to showcase how much I love old games and the history behind them. A lot of what I wanted to do didn't happen because of life, time, and drive, but I'd like to revisit some of it now that life is more stable.
I was originally hosting it Wordpress.com Premium because I wanted to run an online store, use VideoPress, etc. Well, that plans now expired, and I don't want to pay that much until I have a good reason, so I moved it all over to a cheap VPS. I wanted the freedom of a VPS over a traditional Wordpress host, but more importantly, I wanted the learning experience. It's been a long time since I messed with setting anything up on a VPS, and I needed a refresher. I'm also trying to do more "nerd" things lately, so why not?

Stellar Shift Xbox Controller
I don't go through controllers very often, but my 20th Anniversary Xbox controller was starting to get pretty war torn after thousands (probably, I don't know) of Halo matches, complete with loose and worn out analog sticks. I saw the Stellar Shift controllers were on sale for 20 bucks off, so I picked one up, as one can never have too many controllers.
It's awesome! The colors shift as you turn it around in the light. It's kind of hard to capture properly on camera, but here is a little clip.
It feels weird having sticks that aren't loose, so I guess I better get to work breaking it in...
I get asked about the keyboard attachment a lot. This was an official Xbox Chatpad add-on released during the Xbox One era. I don't think they make them anymore. I dig them because I do a lot of Y button searches (think Spotlight on Mac with Command + Space) and, quite honestly, it makes the controller easier for me to hold as I have a lot of problems with my hands. The added weight is nice as well.
This also includes a dynamic wallpaper background that looks like the grips. Snazzy!
